Discuss Bible Scripture > speaking in tongues

what does the bible say about speaking in tongues

In the book of St. John, Jesus promised a Comforter and Teacher after He left. Once we receive it, He promised that we would receive power after it comes upon us.

If you read the book of Acts, chapter 2, the apostles received the manifestation of the Holy Ghost by speaking in tongues.

In 1 Corinthians 12, I believe, the bible talks about different tongues being a gift. Once we receive the Holy Ghost, we automatically have the 9 gifts of the spirit.

When we pray in our native tongue, Jesus has to intercede for us, but when we pray in other tongues, we talk dirctly to God, Himself. Note: when Jesus was on the cross He cried out in tongues, the writing on the wall in Daniel's day with King Balshazar.....

what do U understand in the bible? Speaking in tongue is
a manifestation of the power of satan in the false teachers.U see that is happening in the churches these days, why that never happened during the church age? Because satan is ruling in the churches, the spirit of God is gone and God passes it to satan now.
MAY GOD SAVE YOU!

McKenzie should offer scripture before speaking. The ability to speak in tongues is a gift, not everyone has the gift. I Corinthians 12:11 says "But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills." The Spirit is the Holy Spirit not a demonic spirit and the giver is Christ.
