Discuss Bible Scripture > Where are the promises of God?
Hi,
I would like to think of myself as a Christian, however, I feel that I am far from living the life, that I should be living according to the book.
What I think was meant by us living a life of great riches and wealth, was meant to be in Heaven. Not on earth, as some people refer to earth as hell already, we will, once in heaven be living a life of riches and wealth, as you be in the kingdom....
Hello, for input i beleive that the riches that God speaks about arent neccessarily on earth but in heaven we were put on earth as a test to see which way we are gonna go our goal is to live the ways of God and any time we do or if we are, then we start to stack up riches in heaven every good deed on earth is like another blessing in heaven the reason that people are still starving and hurting ect... is i believe GOD has the power if He wanted to he could make everything go away starvation, killing ECT... but if he did that then no one would need faith to believe and that is what God wants to make sure that we keep our faith in Him and also if you are living how GOD wants you to live then you should be blessed MATHEW 6,V33 seek ye first the kingdom of GOD and all its righteousness and everything else will be added to you. so just keep faithful and keep GOD first in your life and one day we will have our riches.
hello the riches God is talking about are in heaven however many good deeds you do and how many souls are saved by you and how you learn and grow in the lord also gives you riches in heaven. but none of that matters at all because when you get to heaven you gladly give all of it back to him.if you want to make ends meet. you have to beleive in your heart that he will give you financial freedom. many people want faith like Jesus had well why do they want what they already have.they want to see it happen to beleive it.i have God like faith i believe that the Lord will provide and then eventually i will see results you just have to pray hard and find something in the bible that Jesus talks about that has to do with finance troubles and say the verse out loud in your prayer.like if a verse says thee or thou in stead of that replace it with me or i and make the verse pesonal.
Hi.. the riches He is speaking of are the riches of wisdom, understanding, love, of HIm and HIs word etc.. the things of God.. not money... seek first these character things .. to get to know God and who He is...and then all things will be added to you... plus He expects us to use common sense and not overspend etc... Jesus was not rich in material things.. He was rich in character etc.. the fruits of the spirit etc..love peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, self control..
There are many riches here on earth, problem is, alot of us christians are not realistic. Quite a few people try to live above their means.
I pay rent, lights, phone, car note, & insurance. Plus food. I do tithe, but I do it off my net & it's only for the income that I work for. Since I started doing that, I find myself having more money in my pocket. I am also a single mom. I adopted my daughter 8 years ago.
God has given us the power to obtain wealth. I had to see the financial secretary at my church. Write down a budget for yourself. Anything that isn't necessary, cut it out. My daughter goes crazy sometimes because she can't watch cable, but that's not a necessity. I make a little over $8 an hour and I went from $11.50 and always in the rear at the bank to having 2 checking and a savings account that I only use for church trips which are only twice a year.
The wealth of the wicked is laid up for the just. You learn how to faithful over the little that you have and God can and will give you favor to get more.
Quick testimony......I had a 96 explorer that was literally falling apart on me. I told God what kind of car I wanted but wasn't expecting it for another 3 or 4 years. Bad credit. Anyway, God allowed me to go on the side of town that I don't even live in to the dealership where I bought my truck. There it was a 1997 Volvo. The type of car I prayed for. It was too good to be true. I talked to the guy and he sold the car to me for 2,000 less than it was worth and my payments are only 200 a month. 100 dollars less than what I asked for. The car is in excellent condition.
We can have the riches.
Hi I don't want to give you wrong information so i will keep it all according to the scripture the promises of GOD are in DEUTERONOMY 28:1-14 but we Christians have to do our part and our part is bases on the scripture in MATTHEW 6:33 reads SEEK YE FIRST THE KINGDOM OF GOD,AND ALL HIS RIGHTOUSNESS;AND ALL THESE THINGS WILL BE ADDED UNTO YOU.Also in MATTHEW 6:8-13 but the part that pertains to your question is in verse 10 which says; (THY KINGDOM COME THY WILL BE DONE ON EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN.) JESUS IS TELLING US THAT GOD'S WILL FOR US CAN BE DONE ON EARTH. SO ALL THE PROMISES THAT GOD HAS FOR WE CAN HAVE THEM ON EARTH BUT WE STILL HAVE TO DO OUR PART.
I AGREE WITH ANTONETTE 100%
ALL OF GOD'S PROMISES ARE YEA AND AMEN
IN THIS LIFE. NOT IN HEAVEN ONLY.
IT HAS TO DO WITH FINANCIAL BLESSINGS, BLESSINGS OF HEALTH, CONTENTMENT, SUCCESS.
Additionally, spiritual wealth like anointing, blessings, gifts, protection, provision, no lack but abundance of all things.
IN JOSHUA IT SAYS, For I know the plans that I have for you, saith the Lord, plans to give you hope and a good future. Not plans to hurt you or harm you, but to give you peace and a goodly heritage.

I know that God has promised us riches and an inheritance beyond our wildest imagination, so then I say , why are so many of us still in need? Why are there so many hurting and in financial straits? I understand responsibility for your actions is crucial, I do know that. But speaking for those who have been faithful, who have sown into the kingdom, who have personal relationships with Christ, why are we still hurting and trying to make ends meet? If God promised us the world are we walking in it and don't realize it? Or have we missed it completely?
