I've been raised in the Baptist Church and have always believed that Jesus Christ is the son of God and that he is Lord. I've been taught that God is "in control". If that's true, and he is in control, then why do all these terrible things happen every day? Especially the atrocities to children, who are helpless little things. If God loves us beyond all understanding, then how is it that he can allow these things to go on. We as humans, and sinners, wouldn't let these things happen if we had control!!

God is in control that is true, but at the same time, he has given us free will, meaning that he lets us decide the path that we want. I don't believe that God allows bad things to happen to anyone, it is the decisions that humans make that ruin the world. One thing for sure is that God always ends up taking care of the ones that love him and abide to his word.
I am sure we all have been through situation that have made us wonder where God is but it is written in the Bible that he will never forsake us, no matter what it is we should hold on to him and trust that he will take care of us

Sometimes the Lord ordain the devil to attack to see who you believe in and to bring others to His bosom and to lean on Him. It's not a mistake He knew it all along...the purpose behind it is what's more important. Even if this mother does'nt know the Lord she will be more cautious in raise up her child and grateful to have her blessing safe.
