how do stop addictions when life is so hard, You go to church, play a vital role in church, & are a hypocrite? i've been with the lord for 7 years. had/have an addiction prayed many times about it and it has gone away. but recently it just sprung back up like a wild fire. no one knows about it, till now BUT i need help. i pray all the time for god to take it away and it seems like it comes stronger at me. i've been married almost 4 years and together for about 15years. wife doesn't know about it, but ive been addicted to i guess it would be the flesh, not physically, but i don't know how you would call it. look but not touch. but i still feel guilty. i pray, read, and focus on gods word, but it just seems this feeling is more strong than god, which i know its just the devil deceving me. please, i ask anyone to respond and give me advice, my actions remind me of the scripture ROMANS 7:15-24 "i do not understand what i do. for what i want to do i do not do, but what i hate to do. and if i do what i do not want to do, i agree that the law is good. as it is, it is no longer i myself who do it, but it is sin living in me. i know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. for i have the desire to do what is good, but i cannot carry it out. for what i do is not the good i want to do; no, the evil i do not want to do-this i keep on doing. now if i do what i do not want to do, it is no longer i who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it. so i find this law at work; when i want to do good, evil is right there with me. for in my inner being i delight in gods law; but i see another law at work in the members of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work withing my members. WHAT A WRECKED MAN I AM!
thats how i feel. to scared for asking help in public, too scared in losing my wife, just SCARED. i got introuble 3 yrs ago by wife, when she found pics of nude women for adult mags in my wallet, understandable, but this feelings where there long time before her, just went away and erupted not too long ago, stronger that ever. CAN I EVER GET OVER IT, OR WILL IT HAUNT ME TILL I DIE, OR LATER IN LIFE? till im lonely, or too depressed to go on. i don't know, but i do know i DO read the bible every morning and i am reading a book on spiritual warfare. i know oneday this addiction will be gone, but im hoping when its not too late. Dear God, thank you for this man who has came forward in this moment. God I pray that you would break the chains that are binding him, break the guilt, God once again break the ADDICTION. Devil I rebuke YOU, in the NAME, the Holy name of Jesus and I pray blessings over this man, God that you guide him and brace peace he can't even bear.

Brother I feel you. You may be like me and have that "Idle Time" when your mind starts to wander off into the wrong thoughts when you get a visual. I'm not an expert but either imagine that those things you think about are people learking after your wife, your mother, your sister, or any female person that you have great love and respect for in a repectful Godly way. Then ask yourself "Man would Jesus be thinking this Way". Stay in prayer, your not the only man with these thoughts and do not beat your self up, pray for forgiveness and please do not let your self say," well since I'm thinking it, I may as well do it." THATS WHAT SATAN WANTS DO NOT BE FOOLED! ASK FOR FORGIVENESS AND STAY BUSY IN THE WORKS OF THE LORD, GOD BLESS YOU.

Im so happy many came to my help. I honestly can say i havent done those things in 1 1/2 weeks till yesterday. i was so proud of myself and now that my throat and head are sick the devil attacked at weakest point and i failed god, but i know i will have victory. cuz the lords says "greater is he that is in us than he that is in the world.? 1 john 4:4 thanx for all your support and god bless you all.

God knows that whatever we fix our eyes on can be detrimental to our service and love of Him this is why He inspired the children of israel to to focus on his word and not on the things or other people around u by doing so u'll look on those other people or other things and see that they are good to the eyes and they look good on everybody else and then u're going to desire what the other folks wear and do because it looks good to the eyes. the problem with eve was that she "saw" too. she "saw" that the tree of knowledge was good for food "and that it was pleasant to the eyes and a tree to be desired" sin came right on in and robbed us of our undivided focus and attention on God.you have to understand that the eyes are a lens to your mind and brings ideas to your heart, ideas that will set u against God and condemn your soul to hell. God is not going to waive a wand and your lustful eyes are turned away from what u're seeing thats interfering with your christain walk. its up to u too rebuke that demon that it trying to destroy u destroy your marriage and destroy your power over him that Christ Jesus has given to u in Luke 10:19 Christ Jesus said to us,his desciples, "Behold, I give unto you power...oved all the power of the enemy..." now who is the enemy of righteousness other than satan, his angles, and this world. it starts within u first and u have to act. start off by dying daily as Paul said "I die die daily" and doing that is denying self and knowing that i and me are enemies of God. focus your mind on God's word meditate in your heart the word and spiritual songs and Psalms and train your mind to be into God's word and the lustful eyes u rebuke in the name of Jesus and ask Jesus to be your eyes and commit your eyes to him for his service and speak to him that u want for all that u see with his eyes to be what is pleasing to him and of service to him. brother u can defeat satan at every turn through Jesus Christ u simply have to stand against satan with the word and be in the word.save your life by standing up for Jesus and not yielding to temptation. i have prayed for u and i wil continue.

I had an addiction for years that I just could not break. I prayed to God for help many times and although I was in the church, I wasn't living right(not according to God's will). I attended church, read when I got a chance, but I was living in sin. I rededicated my life to God, then God convicted my heart regarding my living situation. And after many trials I removed myself from that living situation. I begin to read God's word more with much prayer and obedience. I was in the library one day and found this book, I don't remember the name of it. It was regarding a lady who was brutally open and honest regarding her own personal struggles. When I finished with that book I thought different. She not only told of her struggles, but what God said about the sin. When I saw how God saw me. I no longer wanted to be that way, because for many years I justifed my sin. Search your life. Is there anything in it that shouldnot be, other than this addiction? I know you are in the church, but are you obedient to God's Word. Are you praying and reading the Word on a daily basis(renewing your mind), are you humbling your self before God. Also, search out and read what God says about your sin. Don't give up, because believe me God is not giving up on you. I pray, in Jesus name that you get a breakthrough so that God can get the glory.

God loves you no matter what and i bet that his heart breaks for you. This can be a case of mind over matter! just tell yourself you have to stop! Write a list of all the horrible conequences that can come from this addiction and take a look. You could lose your family. Your church. You might even stray from God. Tell yourself that it is NOT an option to let this keep going. Get rid of all pictures and magazines from your house, and when you are walking in a store and happen to see one- JUST LOOK AWAY. When your home alone and the temptation comes over you, go on a walk or a bike ride. You can even mow the lawn or something! I know you can break this!!! I have faith in you! Just remember: With God, all things are possible.

I still struggle alot with my addiction, fail alot more. i guess you can say im sorta depressed cuz this addiction is killing my SELF if you know wut i mean. Addiction is usually a sympton of an underlying issue/s. The Key is to do a HONEST self examination/assessment of those issues that causing those addiction. Once you have established thoses issues, write it down on a piece of paper , with the date and time and pray TO GOD to help you resolves these issue. Phillipian 4:13 read "i can do all thing through Christ who strenghens me"
