One thing that's especially important to God is Patience. We are waiting, as Christians, for Jesus' return and if we were, while we're waiting, let's say partying and drinking, because we say we're bored and He'd be okay with it, then we would be wrong. God has designed us to love one another, and to have a special bond with one person, yes, as you said, but if you give yourself all away before due time, what profit and good do you have in that person for the rest of your life? I know you don't want to hear that, but I really believe that's true. That Patience, is a virtue. God was very upset when Abraham didn't wait to have his son, and because of that, Ishmael's generation, aka MUSLIMS and the Islamic faith, are in the running of making Christianity an extreme minority.
While sex before marriage may seem fine since you're with that person, he said not to do so, so, it's not right in His eyes.
In His eyes, we are to be in love with HIM first, then another.

So even if you are engaged it is wrong??? We are very strong Christians and have been celebate for years but as we get closer things are changing and we are really struggling. This is also the first relationship we've both been in where we have withheld (and we are in our 40's)

- we do alot of prayer and God has interviened at least twice ........ we feel like we should marry earlier so we are not wrong with God. Feedback please.

With everything there is a time and season, my friend.
God loves marriage, God created marriage, and He created the bond and desires for one to be and do the things that married people do. He created that love, that passion, but people are abusing it and using it outside of marriage. It was meant and intended for marriage and marriage only, so that the two could become ONE, That there could be made a new trinity: God, The Man, and The Woman. Don't know if that helps, but I sincerely believe that God created us for that one person, at that one time, and just 'cause you're with them right now doesn't mean you should give yourself to them yet. As the old ABC Family shows say it, "It's so much better when you wait." And it really, really, realllly is.

It's taken into a whole new purpose and a healthy lifestyle.

You see, love isn't just sex. Love isn't all about the "Eros" love, which is Romantic love. (Proverbs 5:18-19) It's also about "Philia" love, which is the friendship love. (Ruth 1:16-17)
And even more important, is AGAPE LOVE. Which is Godly love, and is basically the willingness to put the other person's needs ahead of our desires, even to the point of self sacrifice. (1 John 3:16 and Matthew 26:39)
I know it feels like I'm preaching at you, but bare with me a moment, Isaiah40284110, please.

Agape love is the foundation and nuclear reactor for love in marriage, not the romantic love, and that's what messes it all up. We think it's all about lust and looks and how we feel when we weren't even created for ourselves, but for God, His desires, and the people around us. I'm so sorry if I'm sounding judgmental or rude I'm just giving the feedback you asked.
It's wrong outside of marriage because God intended it only for marriage. I pray for you and that blessings come your way, and that God will guide you, and if you wanna talk to me you are free to, I'll give you my email.

I urge you to read Song of Songs. It is a love story and is a chapter devoted to love and sex, believe it or not. It speaks of the precious gift of intimacy God has given us and it draws parallels to the intimate (though obviously unsexual) relationship he wishes to have with us. In the book it says in 2:7-8, "Daughters of Jerusalem, I charge you by the gazelles and by the does of the field: Do no arouse or awaken love until it so desires."

Do not ruin this special bond that God has bestowed to us that is supposed to be between a husband and wife, by having sex out of wedlock.

ok Im 40..and I have been with my boyfriend for 3 yrs... we live together and have committed to one another whole heartedly, we have both been married once...now he sees marriage just as a piece of paper and sees us as a married couple without the paper.. There is no Hebrew or Greek word used in the Bible that precisely refers to sex before marriage. The Bible undeniably condemns adultery and sexual immorality, but is sex before marriage considered sexually immoral? According to 1 Corinthians 7:2, “yes” is the clear answer: “But since there is so much immorality, each man should have his own wife, and each woman her own husband.” In this verse, Paul states that marriage is the “cure” for sexual immorality. First Corinthians 7:2 is essentially saying that, because people cannot control themselves and so many are having immoral sex outside of marriage, people should get married. Then they can fulfill their passions in a moral way.

Since 1 Corinthians 7:2 clearly includes sex before marriage in the definition of sexual immorality, all of the Bible verses that condemn sexual immorality as being sinful also condemn sex before marriage as sinful. Sex before marriage is included in the biblical definition of sexual immorality. There are numerous Scriptures that declare sex before marriage to be a sin (Acts 15:20; 1 Corinthians 5:1; 6:13, 18; 10:8; 2 Corinthians 12:21; Galatians 5:19; Ephesians 5:3; Colossians 3:5; 1 Thessalonians 4:3; Jude 7). The Bible promotes complete abstinence before marriage. Sex between a husband and his wife is the only form of sexual relations of which God approves (Hebrews 13:4).

Far too often we focus on the “recreation” aspect of sex without recognizing that there is another aspect—procreation. Sex within marriage is pleasurable, and God designed it that way. God wants men and women to enjoy sexual activity within the confines of marriage. Song of Solomon and several other Bible passages (such as Proverbs 5:19) clearly describe the pleasure of sex. However, the couple must understand that God’s intent for sex includes producing children. Thus, for a couple to engage in sex before marriage is doubly wrong—they are enjoying pleasures not intended for them, and they are taking a chance of creating a human life outside of the family structure God intended for every child.

While practicality does not determine right from wrong, if the Bible's message on sex before marriage were obeyed, there would be far fewer sexually transmitted diseases, far fewer abortions, far fewer unwed mothers and unwanted pregnancies, and far fewer children growing up without both parents in their lives. Abstinence is God’s only policy when it comes to sex before marriage. Abstinence saves lives, protects babies, gives sexual relations the proper value, and, most importantly, honors God.
